About

A development company that ships its own software

Digital Galactica Labs builds custom software and AI systems for clients, and owns a portfolio of products we run ourselves. The two reinforce each other. We do not recommend architectures we have never had to operate.

Why DGL

We build and operate software ourselves.

There is a difference between building something for a demo and being responsible for it after customers start using it. We run our own software in production. We deal with releases, infrastructure, support, analytics, app store reviews, integrations, bugs, operating costs, and the decisions that come after launch. We have made expensive mistakes on our own products first, and that experience changes how we build yours.

DGL is not an agency that also has a side project. We are the founders of easyChef Pro, and client work and product work run out of the same team - so the person advising you on store review, attribution or scaling has done it this quarter rather than once in a previous job. How we work

Four things that tend to matter

Scope the problem, not the feature list

The first conversation is about what is actually going wrong. Feature lists are usually a guess at a solution.

Ship something small early

A narrow working slice in production beats a broad plan on paper. It also surfaces the constraints nobody mentioned.

Build it to be operated

Monitoring, deploys, environments and documentation are part of the build, not a phase afterwards that never happens.

Say when we are the wrong fit

Some work should not be custom software at all. We would rather tell you that than take the engagement.

How we work

Your idea, built right.

Transparency

You can see the code, project board, decisions and deployment history. You should know what is being built and where your money is going.

Integrity

If custom software is the wrong answer, we will tell you before you pay us to build it. If an existing product solves the problem better and cheaper, that matters.

Practical Engineering

We make technical decisions based on the problem, expected usage, operating cost, maintainability, and the people who will be responsible for the software after launch.

Reliability

We operate our own production software. We know what happens when a deployment fails, an API changes, a customer cannot log in, or something breaks outside business hours.
